Job summary

Apex Space in Playa Vista, CA, is seeking a Mechanisms Technician to support the assembly and integration of solar array mechanical systems within our satellite bus production line. You will work with mechanical engineers to build, align, and verify deployment mechanisms, pantograph assemblies, hinges, and subassemblies to tight tolerances.

The role requires 3+ years in precision mechanical assembly in aerospace or high-tech manufacturing, knowledge of GD&T, cleanroom discipline, and strong

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in precision mechanical assembly in aerospace or high-tech manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T callouts.
• Cleanroom experience and FOD prevention knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate solar array subassemblies per drawings and work instructions.
• Install and torque mechanical fasteners; maintain torque records.
• Perform precision alignment with calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
• Bonding and adhesive operations on structural joints per procedures.
• Support deployment testing and hinge articulation checks.
• Document activities and non-conformances in build records.
