Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Mechanisms Engineer to join a Government Consulting company in Lanham, MD, 100% onsite. You will drive design, development, analysis, integration and testing of precision mechanical systems for advanced aerospace applications from concept through deployment.

The role emphasizes trade studies, CAD design, FEA, PLM/PDM, and full product lifecycle support with collaboration across engineering teams and external suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools and PLM/PDM systems.
• Experience with FEA and hardware development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and mechanisms; perform trade studies and analyses.
• Create detailed mechanical designs, drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for hardware integration, assembly, verification, and testing.
• Work with suppliers to define requirements and monitor progress.
• Support environmental and qualification testing (vibration, thermal).
• Investigate anomalies; perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Define and validate mechanical interfaces between components and subsystems.
• Present data and test results in design reviews.
• Identify opportunities for design innovation and process improvements.
