AST SpaceMobile seeks a Mechanisms Engineer to design, develop, and optimize precision mechanical systems for advanced aerospace applications, from concept to testing. The role focuses on creating reliable hardware that meets performance, manufacturability, and integration requirements across multiple subsystems.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, perform trade studies, and support qualification testing.

Qualifikationen

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design/analysis experience.
• Experience with multidisciplinary systems including electrical or software components is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop mechanical systems and mechanisms; perform analysis and trade studies to optimize performance and manufacturability.
• Execute detailed engineering design work per standards and program requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams for system integration, assembly, and testing activities.
• Partner with external vendors to define requirements, review designs, and track development progress.
• Develop and maintain mechanical documentation: requirements, drawings, interfaces, and test procedures.
• Define and validate mechanical interfaces between subsystems and components.
• Support qualification testing (vibration, thermal, environmental) and evaluate results.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Present technical findings during reviews with cross-functional teams.
