Job summary

Odys Aviation, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Technician to support assembly, integration, and testing of Hybrid Electric Powerplant systems across aircraft and testing platforms.

You will work closely with engineers and other technicians to integrate and install components, participate in prototype builds, test stands, and system installations on multiple projects to advance flight readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with electric propulsion or hybrid-electric architectures in UAVs.
• Experience working on complex electromechanical systems (motors, power electronics, batteries, cooling systems).
• Proficiency in soldering, Mil-Spec crimping, and harness building.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of tools including torque wrenches, drills and soldering irons.
• Assemble and fabricate test rigs and flight articles.
• Interpret engineering drawings, instructions and test procedures.
• Fabricate and handle aerospace components with tight tolerances.
• Operate ground support equipment such as forklifts and gantry cranes.
• Support first time builds of complex electromechanical systems (motors, power electronics, batteries, etc.).
• Assist assembly of prototype mechanical and electrical components.
• Support testing campaigns and data collection.
• Inspect parts for fit and tolerances.
• Maintain organized shop and tools.
• Travel to access parts and equipment as needed.
• Collaborate across diverse teams.
