Job summary
RTX is seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to production of advanced assemblies for Space and Sea applications, including heat exchangers, pumps, and pressurized accumulators.
The role focuses on driving innovative manufacturing methods, ensuring manufacturability, and applying engineering solutions to support life support and thermal control systems. Collaboration across IPD teams is essential.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with machining processes including CNC milling/turning and fixture design
- Proficiency with Creo CAD and knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement mechanical manufacturing methods for hardware and production readiness.
- Author manufacturing assembly documentation and design tooling for Life Support and Thermal Control hardware.
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams and suppliers to ensure quality and compliance.
- Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions for non-conforming hardware.
- Document sequences for complex manufacturing operations and optimize processes for assembly and repair.
- Ensure EH&S and quality standards are adhered to across manufacturing processes.
