The role involves budgets, staff development, collaboration with manufacturing and quality, and delivering hardware on schedule and within budget. A Bachelor's degree and 10+ years in mechanical/aerospace with leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; required or equivalent combo of education
• Minimum 10+ years in Mechanical or Aerospace field with design/analysis/maintenance experience
• Minimum 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role
• Experience with aerostructures, flight control, propulsion and composites
• CAD experience with 3D models and 2D drawings (SolidWorks preferred)
• Configuration management in PLM-based system (Agile preferred)
• Requirements development and management (JAMA preferred)
• Experience developing test plans/procedures against aerospace specs
• Proven ownership and delivery of products on time/budget

Responsibilities

• Manages a group of mechanical engineering professionals including budget planning and staffing
• Provides mentorship across a wide portfolio of projects
• Manages design and development of new UAV products and enhancements
• Supports development of active projects and proposals for new opportunities
• Plans workload to meet aeromechanical design demands
• Maintains high customer satisfaction with internal and external customers
• Interfaces between design, manufacturing and quality engineering
• Interacts with customers and peer managers to align priorities and risks
• Communicates business priorities to create clear vision of priorities
• Establishes budgets, schedules and work plans
