Job summary

The Ash Group is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for a 12-month contract in Plano, Texas, onsite. The role focuses on heavy structural modifications for aerospace platforms, using CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA, and performing analysis to support design and certification.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5–10 years of aerospace experience, plus experience in multidisciplinary teams and applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 5–10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
• Heavy structural mods experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks/CATIA)
• Aerospace experience
• Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams
• Strong understanding of structural design principles

Responsibilities

• Research advanced mechanical solutions for aerospace missions
• Design heavy structural modifications for LC130H airframe
• Simulate structural performance with FEA and CFD
• Interpret and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams
• Document design decisions and technical reports
• Support certification and testing activities
