Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Plano, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to design and develop complex mechanical systems for aerospace and defense applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, quality, and regulatory standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 2+ years of experience, with CAD/CAE tooling and GD&T knowledge. Master’s degree preferred; CATIA/3DEXPERIENCE experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role.
• Proficient understanding of mechanical design principles and CAD software.
• Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
• Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for aerospace and defense applications.
• Conduct detailed analyses and simulations to validate and optimize designs.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures.
• Prepare and review technical documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs into overall systems.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
