Job summary

AEVEX is seeking an Aeromechanical Engineer to join our onsite team in Tampa. You will develop and analyze mechanical systems for aircraft and spacecraft, run simulations and prototypes, and collaborate across engineering disciplines to deliver integrated aerospace solutions.

The role requires a BA in Mechanical Engineering (Masters preferred) and experience with CAD, FEA/CFD, and manufacturing processes. A PE is a plus, with 0–3 years of aerospace experience welcomed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
• Experience with FEA and CFD analyses.
• Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and quality controls.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations, AS9100 and ISO 9001.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze mechanical systems for aircraft and spacecraft, including engines, airframes, and avionics.
• Conduct simulations, testing, and prototyping to validate designs and ensure performance and safety.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to integrate mechanical systems into larger aerospace systems.
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential mechanical failures.
• Design and oversee manufacturing and assembly processes of mechanical components, ensuring quality and performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of designs, processes, and test results.
