Job summary

LHH in Goldsboro, NC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for an onsite role. A B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required with a Master’s preferred, and 3+ years of aerospace design experience.

You will design dynamic mechanical and electro-mechanical components, create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings, perform validation, and contribute to cost/manufacture considerations. Relocation support and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical or Aerospace) required; Master’s preferred.
• 3+ years of aerospace design experience.
• Experience designing dynamic/mechanical/electro-mechanical components for aerospace.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA.
• Troubleshooting mechanisms during development cycle.
• PMA design/certification knowledge for aerospace applications.
• Stress analysis.
• Experience with advanced CAD/manufacturing tools.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and track compliance.
• Design validation and verification (analysis, testing, reports).
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Maintain drawing lists, technical reports, and task lists.
• Review deviation requests, material reports, change requests.
• Apply design for cost/manufacture/assembly principles.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical issues.
