Job summary

AEVEX Aerospace in Tampa, FL is seeking a Material Program Manager to oversee procurement and supply of materials for projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and quality standards.

You will develop material strategies, manage supplier relationships, and coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to align material availability with production schedules. Strong PSM, negotiation, data analysis, and ERP skills are required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and material logistics.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software (Infor LN, SAP, Oracle or similar ERP).
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and competing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
• Skilled at analyzing data to inform decision-making and optimize material flow.
• Ability to track complex material schedules and manage multiple suppliers.
• Able to respond quickly to changes in material requirements, production schedules, or supplier issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement material strategies for specific projects or programs.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand material requirements and timelines.
• Create and maintain material delivery schedules aligned with milestones.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate contracts and secure materials in a timely manner with procurement teams.
• Establish strong relationships with suppliers and address supply chain disruptions.
• Manage the material budget for the program and keep costs within approved limits.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations and process improvements.
• Track and report material expenditures, variances, and forecasts.
• Identify risks related to shortages, disruptions, or market fluctuations and mitigate them.
• Monitor supply chain performance to anticipate delays and adjust plans.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project management to align material availability with production.
• Facilitate communication between internal teams and suppliers to resolve material issues.
• Work with QA teams to ensure materials meet specifications and standards.
• Implement and track KPIs related to supplier on-time delivery and performance.
• Maintain records of material orders, deliveries, and costs.
• Provide status updates to leadership on availability, risks, and costs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations for material management.
• Perform other duties as required.
