Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. in Shelby, NC is seeking a Quality Engineer - Aerospace Materials to support development, manufacturing, and sustainment of sealants, coatings, and adhesives at the Shelby site.

You will provide subject matter expertise in quality sciences to drive compliance and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle, interfacing with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and S&T teams. This on-site role reports to the Quality Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, science, computer science, or commensurate experience.
• CQE/CQA, Six Sigma or Lean certifications preferred.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO standards, and aerospace regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Improve product quality and manufacturing processes to support FTQ.
• Lead RCCA analysis with cross-functional teams and implement corrective actions.
• Create and maintain PFMEA sessions; develop control plans per product family.
• Drive cost savings by reducing cycle time and scrap using quality tools.
• Provide quality training and communicate with customers and suppliers.
• Ensure regulatory quality requirements flow to all functions.
