Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Materials Characterization Lab Technician in Moorestown, New Jersey. The role involves preparing metal alloys, composites, and electronic assemblies for microstructural evaluation, and supporting advanced analytical equipment such as SEM, EDS, FTIR, and DSC/TGA/DMA/TMA platforms.

You will perform mechanical testing in accordance with ASTM standards and document critical results for engineers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a materials characterization or mechanical testing lab
• Hands-on testing, equipment operation, calibration, or maintenance
• Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and data documentation
• Safe handling of lab fixtures and materials

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis including sectioning, mounting, grinding, and polishing
• Support SEM/EDS/FTIR and thermal analysis equipment
• Conduct mechanical testing per ASTM standards and internal procedures
• Record and communicate test results clearly in presentations
• Calibrate and maintain lab equipment and fixtures
• Interpret schematics and drawings to guide testing activities
