Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is hiring a Manufacturing Prep Technician to work alongside Manufacturing, Planning, Warehouse, and Manufacturing Engineering teams. The role focuses on preparing incoming work for production, verifying parts and documentation, and assisting with prep-level assembly.

We encourage all experience levels to apply, from entry to highly experienced. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, read technical documents, and operate within ERP systems to ensure on-time

Qualifications

• Read and follow work instructions, manufacturing orders and drawings.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a team setting.
• High attention to detail in part verification and production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Review planned work orders and align daily priorities with production leads.
• Prepare incoming jobs for production by printing work instructions, assembling packets, and staging documents.
• Unpack parts, organize hardware, and verify all required parts are present and correct.
• Consume parts in the ERP system and support part pick activities when shortages are identified.
• Visually inspect incoming parts for damage and non-conformance.
• Clean hardware using approved methods and perform part marking.
• Complete prep-level assembly (e.g., helicoil, keensert).
• Triage held jobs and coordinate with supporting teams to unblock work.
• Escalate inventory, BOM and documentation issues to relevant teams.
• Document rework, create NCRs, and support redlines to improve processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and conduct safety checks.
