SEKISUI Aerospace in Renton is seeking an Aerospace Painter Lead for first shift. You will spray protective coatings on manufactured products, following standard work instructions, and lead a production team on a daily basis.

Hourly Pay Range: $30.25/hr. - $34.25/hr. DOE

Position

As a Painter Lead, you will spray the surface of manufactured products, or working area with protective coatings such as paint, primer, enamel, and polyurethane according to standard work instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule and organize work departments daily
• Provide direction and schedule production team members' daily activities
• Frequently monitor and report on work progress of the team
• Communicate with all departments, logistics, engineering, and production management, including other shifts, about needs, priorities, and issues
• Promote flow and pull of products and information to internal and ultimately external customers
• Identify, investigate, and address problems on the production floor
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members by investigating root causes of scrap and RMA issuesWork with production and quality teams to prevent recurrence
• Train and orient new employees on company standards and procedures
• Implement 5S tools and reduce variation in the work environment
• Identify and lead continuous improvement activities
• Ensure company goals and objectives are being met by each employee and provide constructive feedback
• Adjust and spray required parts/monuments and coupons to specifications
• Check the finished part/monument to ensure that it meets the specifications
• Select the required part/monument to be painted
• Mix selected coating liquid to per the job traveler and drawing requirements
• Fill the paint liner/cup with the desired material

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to read instructions and follow demonstrated steps
• Experience using paint tools is a plus
• Strong technical knowledge in manufacturing and the assigned area or department*Communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively. Provide strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining perspective
• Be creative, flexible, and able to drive change
• Ability to multitask, follow through, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• The capability to develop and coach individuals to higher performance
• Provide strong operations thinking that moves the vision to successful implementation

Working Conditions

While performing the typical duties of this job, employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment.

• Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
• Exposure to hazardous equipment
• Exposure to contaminants
• Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature controlled
• Shared workspaces with other employees
• Requires handling objects of up to 30 lbs.
• Lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending
• Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift, and overtime)

Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Required PPE provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee's position and exposure. Below are typical PPE used on the production floor. Appropriate PPE must be worn by all employees when on the production floor.

• Gloves (Latex, Rubber, Chemical Resistant, General Duty)
