Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech in Huntsville, AL seeks a General Manager to oversee all operations, strategy, and growth for its UAS and Gimbal manufacturing facility.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive profitability, and ensure compliance with FAA, ISO, and AS9100 standards, reporting to the executive leadership. This role emphasizes strategic partnerships, budget stewardship, and organizational excellence.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Ph.D. preferred.
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of UAS aerospace manufacturing processes and industry best practices.
• Experience directing Human Resources.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Strategic planning, business development, and driving operational excellence.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting and data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Results-oriented with a focus on targets and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business growth and profitability.
• Provide overall leadership and direction to the facility and coordinate departments.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
• Drive operational excellence across manufacturing processes and supply chain.
• Collaborate with engineering, programs, business development, and operations for aligned processes.
• Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities for innovation and partnerships.
• Develop and manage the facility budget and ensure cost-effective operations.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
• Establish KPIs and take corrective actions as needed.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team with coaching and development.
• Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement culture.
• Represent the company at industry events to boost brand visibility.
• Work with executives on strategic growth and new markets expansion.
• Ensure compliance with FAA, ISO, AS9100 or equivalent.
