Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our summer program in Maryland. You will work on real aerospace and defense projects, gain hands-on experience, and receive mentoring from experienced engineers.

The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and developing practical technical skills in a dynamic environment. During the internship you will contribute to ongoing programs, attend cross-functional workshops, and learn about manufacturing processes,

Qualifications

• Must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior and have at least 6 months until graduation after end of internship.
• Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in actual technical projects and contribute to team objectives.
• Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced industry professionals.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and records.
• Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting technical data to support engineering decisions.
• Attend planning meetings to understand project requirements, timelines, and team goals.
• Perform hands‑on technical work to gain practical experience and build skills.
• Work closely with team members, absorb and apply learning to projects.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support best practices.
