Job summary

RTCA in Chatsworth, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Associate for an onsite, full-time role. This early‑career position supports engineering and shop floor operations in a CNC precision machining aerospace environment.

You will help create and maintain work instructions, enter ERP/MRP data, collaborate across teams, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts including 5S and Kaizen. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Responsibilities

  • Working a full-time, onsite position at our Chatsworth, CA location.
  • Assist with creation, revision, and maintenance of manufacturing work instructions and process documentation.
  • Support engineering documentation activities including routers, tool lists, setup sheets, and related records.
  • Enter and maintain ERP/MRP system data, including BOMs, routings, and production planning information.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, production, quality, planning, and supply chain teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction.
  • Support lean manufacturing activities including 5S, Kaizen events, and process improvement projects.
  • Assist with tooling, fixture, and shop support requests as needed.
  • Support estimating and quoting activities through data collection, manufacturing input, and process reviews.
  • Gain exposure to aerospace manufacturing processes including CNC machining, assembly, deburr, inspection, finishing, and material flow.
  • Assist with engineering change implementation and document control activities.
  • Support production issue resolution and corrective action activities under guidance from senior engineering staff.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and communicate project status updates.
