Job summary

Terran Orbital seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes for satellite structures and mechanisms. You will support design-to-build transitions, drive process improvements, and collaborate across engineering, quality, and supply chain to ensure high-quality output.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum two years in Manufacturing Engineering in a high-reliability setting.
  • Design software experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, aerospace standards.
  • Experience with DFMEA/FMEA, SPC, and root-cause analysis.
  • Works well in an integrated team with technicians, engineers, and managers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with practical focus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (D365, Aegis).
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
  • U.S. Person or permanent resident to comply with export regs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for satellite structures, subassemblies, and components.
  • Assist with tooling, fixtures, and jigs for efficient assembly and testing.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on redlines and drawings corrections.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to the production floor to resolve issues.
  • Support transition from design to full-scale manufacturing and ramp-up.
  • Drive continuous process improvements for efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to optimize manufacturability and costs.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Supply Chain to ensure standards compliance.
  • Represent engineering in program and production meetings with leadership.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing and test discrepancies with Design teams.
