Job summary

Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc (ESAero) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide critical engineering support for efficient, high-quality production. You will translate designs into manufacturable assemblies and define work instructions while collaborating with design, procurement, QA, and assembly teams.

You will develop and improve manufacturing processes, maintain assembly documentation, and train personnel to ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effective manufacturing, with on-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and hands-on machinery use
• Ability to translate engineered designs into build instructions for assembly and test teams
• Knowledge of cost-effective and reliable assembly methods in electronics environments
• Experience extracting information from inventory control systems
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to ensure efficient, high-quality production
• Develop and maintain assembly documentation and work instructions
• Represent manufacturing interests as part of the Integrated Product Team
• Collaborate with design engineers to partition products into manufacturable assemblies
• Apply Design for Manufacture principles in new product designs
• Qualify new suppliers with procurement and QA
• Build prototype units and ensure documentation reflects as-built state
• Define/revise assembly and test routings for work orders
• Serve as engineering interface to resolve manufacturing problems on the floor
• Train assembly personnel in tools, equipment, and techniques
• Improve assembly processes to reduce cost, variation, or improve reliability
• Identify safety hazards and design processes/fixtures to minimize risk
• Develop assembly aids/fixtures to improve efficiency and quality
