Job summary

CMI Group Aerospace & Defense in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan, develop, and improve processes for aerospace and precision‑machined components. You will work with CNC Programmers, Quality, and Design Engineering to convert designs into efficient, repeatable processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO methods.

On-site role requires a BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering and 3+ years of experience, hands‑on 3D CAD, and the ability to interpret

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of related manufacturing engineering experience.
• Hands-on 3D CAD experience.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Experience with CNC machining equipment and metal processing.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in aerospace manufacturing.
• Develop detailed manufacturing process plans for new products.
• Improve process plans to increase yield and reduce cost.
• Develop work instructions, SOPs, and process workflows.
• Design work-holding fixtures for machining, welding, and assembly.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain high product quality and manufacturing yield.
• Collaborate with CNC programmers and other engineers on DFM.
• Prepare engineering models and drawings in SOLIDWORKS with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO methodologies to daily improvements.
