Description

Ascentec Engineering is hiring an Aerospace Swing Shift Machinist II/III for our Dallas, Oregon location. Qualified candidates must possess the necessary skills to successfully function in a quick-turn, high-speed machine shop. This position presents a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude/skills and an attention to detail with many avenues for career growth. Set up and operate a variety of CNC machine tools and controls to produce precision parts.

Swing shift: Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

This position is on-site (not remote/not hybrid) at our Dallas, Oregon location and not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Included, but not limited to:

  • Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
  • Possess efficient math skills and basic understanding of geometric tolerance.
  • Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, pins, indicators and bore gauges.
  • CNC setup and operation; tech tools, load programs and set/adjust work/tool offsets accordingly. Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls.
  • Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in process inspection protocol.
  • Must have CNC 3 & 4 axis machining experience. 5 axis is a plus.
  • Able to change fixtures, replace tool changes and manage tool libraries.
  • Machining and holding tolerances of +/- .0005".
  • 5s, keeping area clean and organized.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Able to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experienced minimum in the set-up and run of 3-axis vertical CNC mills, 4 & 5 axis is a plus.
  • Experienced with multiple metrology tools for measuring and recording part dimensions.

COMPENSATION / BENEFITS:

  • $24 to $37 per hour
