Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking a Lead Inspector to support quality activities, verify inspections, document results, and determine hardware condition per technical documentation. The role requires close collaboration with the inspection team to uphold customer expectations and FAA standards.

Hours are Friday through Sunday, 6pm to 6am, with duties in a fast-paced manufacturing and office environment. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• FAA Certified Repairman or Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic highly desirable.
• Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, swing arm, dial gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
• Experience with CMM operation and programming is a differentiator.
• Good mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of FAA, CAAC and EASA regulations.
• Strong communication and ability to teach/train.

Responsibilities

• Ascertain that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work.
• Verify inspection records, reports and forms used by the Repair Station before releasing the product for return to service.
• Proactively recommend changes in Quality processes and organization, industry standards and specific skill areas.
• Participate in professional forums on specific issues.
• Recommend changes in workflows where appropriate.
• Strive to improve quality at reduced cost.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure safety rules are followed.
• Assist personnel assigned to the inspection department.
• Ensure continuity of inspection responsibility across shifts.
• Contribute to inspector training program.
