Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Lab Technician to perform chemical and metallurgical testing supporting turbine engine component repair for aerospace applications.

The role includes maintaining lab equipment, monitoring regulatory compliance, and assisting in training. The workspace blends a climate-controlled lab with active manufacturing floors, requiring hands-on work with chemicals, metals, and protective gear.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree or higher in Chemistry/Metallurgy or two years equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and familiarity with chemical storage and safety regulations.
• Ability to follow directions and read work instructions; problem solving and decision making.
• Familiarity with governmental regulations relating to chemical storage and safety.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Analytical testing of chemical tanks, including sampling, titrations, record-keeping and calculations.
• Maintain and prepare chemical tanks, solutions and reagents as needed.
• Perform metallurgical prep, microscopic evaluation and mechanical testing of coatings and metal structures.
• Label and prepare chemical etchants and reagents for various departments.
• Manage chemical waste storage and inventory per regulatory standards.
• Operate a manual lathe for fabricating reusable test coupons as required.
