Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Laboratory Sampling Technician to support the LASSO II contract at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL. This is a 2nd shift role with initial training on 1st shift to achieve proficiency in procedures, safety, and equipment operation.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining sampling equipment, collecting aerospace gas and fluid samples, and assisting chemists with analyses and data collection to support mission safety and success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of experience sampling aerospace-related commodities or operating sampling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transport and handle aerospace materials safely between work areas and labs.
• Set up, calibrate, repair, purge, and prepare sampling equipment for certification.
• Calibrate equipment and record analytical results for launch support.
• Assist Chemists with data collection and laboratory tests.
• Ensure safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory standards are followed.
• Prepare reports on laboratory operations and assist in special tests.
• Use automation and data calculation tools to generate results.

Education
