Job summary

Tech Castings LLC in Indiana is seeking an Investment Casting Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and sustain manufacturing processes for aerospace components produced by investment casting, with a primary emphasis on nickel and cobalt-based superalloys.

The role involves supporting wax, shell, vacuum, and finishing operations, performing root-cause analysis for defects, and driving continuous improvement through process controls, NPI participation, and collaboration with QA and production

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and CMM-based or laser dimensional inspection.
  • Experience or internship in investment casting, precision casting, or aerospace manufacturing is preferred.
  • Ability to read casting and machining blueprints.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and validation of casting processes for new and existing aerospace components.
  • Maintain process control plans, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
  • Assist in root cause analysis for defects in nickel/cobalt-based superalloy systems.
  • Track scrap and rework data to identify yield improvements.
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to wax, shell, vacuum furnace, and finishing operations.
  • Support NPI through DFm reviews, quoting, and tooling coordination.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
