Job summary

SpaceX in Brownsville, TX is hiring an Instrument Fitter to build, install and troubleshoot fluid systems for the Starship production facility. You will fabricate piping, install sensors, read schematics and specs, and verify ground support equipment.

Candidates need 3+ years using hand tools and pipe fabrication, with willingness to travel up to 25% and work overtime as required. This role also requires physical capability to lift 25 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and adapt to

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
3+ years of experience using mechanical and/or electronics hand tools.
3+ years of experience with pipe fitting and fabrication.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and install fluid system components from schemas or drawings (stainless piping, valves, regulators, sensors).
Read/planning documents, schematics, data sheets, drawings and blueprints.
Adjust, repair or replace faulty components of ground hardware and test equipment.
Connect/verify pressure transducers, thermocouples and other sensors.
Complete wiring of electrical ground support equipment for ground systems.
Perform high pressure liquid and pneumatic testing.
Troubleshoot/repair high-urgency issues during activation or production.
