Job summary

GE Aerospace Beavercreek site in Ohio is hiring an Aerospace Inspector to perform preliminary, in‑process, and final inspections on engine components, ensuring airworthiness and on‑time delivery. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma/GED, 6+ months in aerospace/production, and proficient computer skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience in a production, manufacturing, quality, or aerospace environment where safety, precision, and standard work are critical.
  • Experience using manual calipers to perform precise dimensional inspections in a manufacturing environment.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to accurately read micrometers, manual calipers, and other precision measuring instruments, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office applications (such as Outlook and Word) and navigate work instructions or quality documentation systems.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manufacturing work with a rigorous focus on safety, quality, and the critical nature of aircraft parts.
  • Perform preliminary, in-process, and final inspections on engine and component parts.
  • Inspect parts for defects, dimensional accuracy, and compliance to engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Heavily utilize a computer to navigate through different programs, blueprints, software, and Microsoft products.
  • Use hands and fingers to move parts, use measurement instruments, and manually examine parts.
  • Read and interpret OEM manuals, blueprints, and, where applicable, FAA-approved technical data.
  • Complete inspection documentation, including Records of Measurement, certifications, and other required quality records.
  • Verify traceability and documentation for incoming, in-process, and completed parts to ensure compliance and airworthiness.
  • Support production flow by working closely with operations, shipping, and other partners to meet on-time delivery commitments.
  • Lift and exert 10–25 pounds of force frequently and 20–50 pounds of force occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Perform other inspection-related duties as required to support safety, quality, and delivery (SQD).
  • Cross-train to work in all areas of the cell and run other processes as production needs require.
  • Train other team members on standard work and machine operation as needed.
  • In designated areas, comply with mandatory or random drug testing requirements.
