Job summary

Dynovas, Inc. in Poway, CA, seeks an Aerospace Level Metrology Inspector to join the Quality Assurance team. You will perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections on tight-tolerance aerospace components to ensure strict adherence to industry benchmarks.

You will apply GD&T knowledge, CMM tooling, and precision measurement skills while collaborating with manufacturing engineers to drive technical excellence in a high-precision environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; associate degree or mechanical cert is a strong plus.
• Foundational understanding of quality management systems (AS9100/ISO 9001).
• GD&T and blueprint reading are essential.
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and precision inspection techniques.
• Strong communication and collaboration with engineering and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Receiving/Incoming Inspection of raw materials and parts.
• In-Process Inspection at Hold Points during manufacturing or repair.
• Final & Flight Certification Inspection for released systems.
• Precision measurement with micrometers, calipers, height gages, borescopes, CMM arms, laser trackers.
• Hardware inspection with rigorous quality documentation.
• Coordinate non-conformance resolutions with internal teams and customers.

We are seeking a skilled Aerospace Level Metrology Inspector to join our Quality Assurance team in a high-precision manufacturing environment. In this role, you will perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections on tight-tolerance aerospace components to ensure absolute adherence to strict industry benchmarks. The ideal candidate possesses 3 to 5 years of dimensional inspection experience, advanced CMM capabilities (such as Verisurf), and a deep understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and AS9100/AS9102 quality standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining compliance, executing data-driven root cause analyses, and partnering with manufacturing engineers to continuous drive technical excellence.

Key responsibilities of an Inspector I include

• Receiving/Incoming Inspection: Verifying that incoming raw materials, hardware, and third-party parts meet procurement specifications and have correct certification paperwork
• In-Process Inspection: Checking components at designated \"Hold Points\" during manufacturing or repair before a technician can proceed to the next step
• Final & Flight Certification Inspection: Performing the definitive review of fully assembled systems to certify them for a return to service or delivery.
• Precision Measurement: Using specialized, calibrated tools like micrometers, calipers, height gages, borescopes, and CMM arms, and laser trackers to verify that intricate parts match micro-tolerances
• Hardware Inspection: Perform physical inspections and complete rigorous quality documentation for aerospace-grade hardware
• Non-Conformance Management: Coordinate the review, resolution, and communication of non-conformances, acting as a liaison between internal stakeholders and customers

Candidate Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is universally required. An associate degree or trade school certificate in a mechanical discipline is a strong plus
• QMS Familiarity: Foundational understanding of Quality Management Systems, AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar aerospace/defense quality frameworks.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and standard blueprint reading
• Inspection & Manufacturing: Knowledge of physical inspection techniques, precision measurement tools, and aerospace manufacturing processes
• Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset for team-based environments, and an eagerness to learn from senior leadership
