Job summary

Inversion, an aerospace and defense innovator headquartered in Los Angeles, seeks a Hardware Test and Automation Engineer to join the simulation team. You will automate EGSE/HIL workflows, build test scripts, and develop device API wrappers to enable rapid SIL/HIL validation across flight software and hardware.

You will work on provisioning and deploying simulation resources, integrating hardware, and ensuring continuous integration under realistic flight conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
• Typically 1+ years of hands-on hardware experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Lua, Bash, PowerShell.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Rust, or other embedded languages.
• Experience with Linux-based systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret/Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Automate provisioning, deployment, execution, operation, and logging tasks to optimize resource utilization.
• Develop automated test scripts to support qualification for flight software and hardware.
• Develop device API wrappers for EGSE equipment (e.g., to control power supplies, oscilloscopes).
• Develop emulators for flight hardware to support SIL and HIL testing.
• Integrate electronics hardware to enable HIL simulation workflows and safe procedures.
• Contribute to a simulation system that automatically provisions and deploys resources.
