Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in the United States seeks a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and optimize software systems for aerospace applications. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment to ensure performance and quality, from frontend to backend, APIs, and integration with enterprise services.

The role requires a BS in CS/SE or related field with 2+ years of experience; proficiency in C++, Java, Python, and TypeScript/JS (React, Node.js).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE or related field; higher degree may substitute for experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in C++, Java, Python; TypeScript/JavaScript with React and Node.js.
• Solid knowledge of software engineering practices: testing, version control, and code reviews.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs; familiar with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test full-stack components for internal apps and tools.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues and write documentation.
• Collaborate to ensure code quality and standards adherence.
• Integrate applications with third-party APIs and enterprise services (identity/SSO, calendar, messaging, AI).
• Build and maintain REST APIs and real-time features (WebSocket) for internal apps.
• Work with PostgreSQL and ORMs; containerize and deploy to Kubernetes via GitOps.
