Job summary

Tech Castings LLC, based in Indiana, is seeking a Finish Department Technician to perform precise finishing on aerospace-grade castings and ensure parts meet dimensional and cosmetic specs for aerospace and defense standards before shipment.

Responsibilities include manual and machine finishing, interpreting blueprints, reporting defects, and maintaining traceability per AS9100 and customer requirements, with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in metal finishing, foundry work, or precision manufacturing (aerospace preferred).
• Must read and interpret technical drawings and traveler documents.
• Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and inspection techniques.
• Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and machine finishing operations including grinding and sandblasting.
• Interpret traveler paperwork, work instructions, and blueprints to determine finishing requirements.
• Identify and report casting defects or nonconformances to Quality or Engineering personnel.
• Maintain process documentation and ensure traceability per AS9100 and customer requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in workflow, safety, and quality performance.
• Assist with part handling, staging, and routing between finishing, inspection, and heat-treat departments.
