Job summary

CTS International is seeking an Export Classification Specialist to join our compliance team in Seattle. You will collaborate with engineers to evaluate technical data, determine ECCN/ITAR classifications, and guide decisions that balance regulatory requirements with business needs.

The role offers exposure to a wide range of aerospace technologies and interaction with global stakeholders, including Global Trade Control and Legal teams, in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• AA degree in related discipline and typically 6 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to independently perform standard classifications by Order of Review.
• Strong communication and ability to translate complex regulations into practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Perform export classifications (ECCN/ITAR) for aerospace technical data including drawings, materials, source code and engineering systems.
• Partner directly with engineers to evaluate data, challenge assumptions and guide compliant decisions.
• Support corporate investigations and compliance risk assessments.
• Contribute to and improve export decision guides and internal processes.
• Navigate ambiguity balancing regulatory compliance with business needs.
• Operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Collaborate with Global Trade Control and Legal teams on complex or high-risk cases.
