Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a subsidiary of The Boeing Company, is recruiting for a senior engineering leader based in Wichita, KS. The role oversees the engineering organization, drives lifecycle aerospace programs, and ensures technical policy adherence while managing costs and staffing.

The ideal candidate has ABET‑accredited engineering education, 8+ years in engineering, plus 2+ years in technical leadership, and must be able to obtain U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related engineering experience.
• 2+ years of related technical management and/or technical leadership experience.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering organization and provide technical leadership to team.
• Understand full life cycle requirements for aerospace product development.
• Establish, oversee, and administer technical processes, policies, and practices.
• Manage cost, schedule, technical performance, and staffing forecast of the engineering team.
• Collaborate with managers to identify staffing gaps and hire accordingly.
• Define resource requirements, acquisition, and redeployment plans.
• Provide development and growth opportunities for employees.
• Motivate and manage the team to ensure high performance.
• Interface with customers and suppliers to define priorities and approvals.
• Identify, assess, and drive to closure technical risks or opportunities.
