Job summary

M4 Engineering, Inc. invites interns to join its Shakopee, MN team working on flight hardware for defense and aerospace clients. You will participate in structural analysis, thermal/CFD tasks and tool development in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

The internship emphasizes curiosity across disciplines, careful numerical work, and the ability to explain findings clearly to teammates who will act on them. Onsite, year round, with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• A degree, or progress toward one, in aerospace, mechanical, or structural engineering, or a closely related field.
• Some exposure to finite element or CFD work, from coursework or projects.
• Comfort writing code in Python; FORTRAN, C/C++, and MATLAB appear in work.
• Clear written and verbal reasoning, to explain results to teammates.
• U.S. Citizenship or lawful permanent residency required.

Responsibilities

• Assist structural analysis, CFD and thermal work on DoD, NASA and commercial flight hardware programs.
• Support material trades, sizing and margins from concept through detailed design.
• Develop and automate models and workflows using Python to increase throughput.
• Help communicate analysis results to engineers who implement decisions.
