Job summary

JetZero in Long Beach, CA is seeking skilled technicians to fabricate and test electrical harnesses for our aircraft programs. You will assemble, test, and troubleshoot wiring harnesses per engineering drawings and FAA/IPC standards, ensuring quality and safety throughout the process.

You will read schematics, interpret wiring diagrams, and perform precision wire termination, soldering, and testing while maintaining documentation and collaborating with engineering and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years prior experience within the aircraft industry with a focus on avionics, electronics, and electrical harness building activities.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, system integration, and testing processes directly related to aircraft assembly, maintenance and operation.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Proficiency in the use of test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, analog and digital scales, load cells, etc.
• Proficiency in crimping, soldering, and wire termination to aerospace standards
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in hardware and system-level testing.
• Knowledge of quality control and assurance processes in manufacturing or aerospace manufacturing environments.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, onsite at our Long Beach location.
• An energetic mindset ready to be a part of recurring flight-testing activities within tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate aircraft and test lab electrical wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and looms per engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions
• Perform wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, splicing, routing, and lacing using approved tools and techniques
• Install connectors, backshells, contacts, heat shrink, and protective sleeving to aerospace standards
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing of harness assemblies
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards (FAA, IPC/WHMA, MIL-STD, etc.)
• Troubleshoot and repair wiring harness discrepancies or defects
• Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
• Follow ESD, FOD, and safety procedures at all times
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area
• Integrate components and subsystems into flight test airframes and lab test fixtures, ensuring proper fit and function.
• Assist in the development and improvement of assembly and testing processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Provide hands‑on technical support during flight test operations, including on‑site and at flight testing venues.
• Support overall JetZero company goals and objectives and other tasks as required.
