Job summary

Sierra Lobo invites an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the SpaceDOC-III program at NASA Glenn Research Center. The role focuses on electrical power design, PWA layout, and collaboration with IPT leads to advance wind tunnel refurbishment efforts.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on electronics experience, soldering skills, and familiarity with ECAD/MCAD tools, ESD controls, and space industry standards. On-site work is required at the Glenn facility.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with 8+ years of verifiable experience.
• Specialized knowledge in Analog, Digital, Power, RF, Electronics Manufacturing, Computer or Systems Engineering.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint; experience with Altium Designer, LabVIEW, Eclipse, Thermal Desktop, PTC Creo.
• Experience with PCB assembly, soldering, and ESD control requirements; JPM/IPC certifications desirable.
• NFPA 70 understanding; electrical design for Hazardous Areas; space industry exposure preferred.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret Clearance desired.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety standards and practices.
• Work with Printed Wiring Assembly layout and related tools.
• Interface with IPT leads and technicians to provide technical support.
• Support design narratives, system drawings, and technical studies.
• Utilize AutoCAD Electrical, MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Word in daily tasks.
• Contribute electrical design inputs to project schedules and milestones.
• Assist in developing new electrical distribution and process systems.
• Prepare and present design reviews for customers and internal teams.
• Apply best design practices to improve processes and outputs.
• Support quality of project deliverables and timelines.
• Complete assigned projects on time and within budget.
