Job summary

Barnes Aerospace in East Hartford, CT is seeking an EDM Machinist to set up, program and run Wire and Sinker EDM machines. You will read blueprints, operate to strict aerospace tolerances, and document production data to support quality, schedule adherence and continuous improvement.

The role requires 1+ years in aerospace manufacturing, the ability to interpret operation sheets, and the skill to adjust parameters for optimal cut quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of EDM machining: wire, sinker or drilling.
• Read and interpret operation sheets and parameter sheets.
• Set parameters to achieve good LCS test and dimensional accuracy.
• Ability to use gauges to check parts after completion.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate Wire and/or Sinker EDM machines.
• Machine complex aerospace components to blueprints and specs.
• Read routers, setup sheets, and inspection requirements.
• Verify first-piece and in-process dimensions with measuring equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
• Maintain production documentation and adhere to quality procedures.
