Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking an experienced program leader to plan, execute, and deliver complex aerospace and defense programs. You will coordinate engineering, manufacturing, quality, and customer requirements, guiding cross-functional teams to meet technical, schedule, and contractual commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in aerospace or systems engineering.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience managing cost, schedule, scope, and technical risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering teams in design, development, analysis and testing.
• Interface with customers and internal leadership to ensure alignment.
• Support business development through proposals and new business meetings.
• Ensure complete and accurate documentation of engineering activities (drawings, reports, presentations).
• Track program performance using key metrics and proactively identify risks and mitigations.
• Support technical reviews and program milestone reviews.
• Facilitate program planning, technical decision-making, and change management across engineering teams.
• Manage scope, cost, schedule, and technical performance while balancing priorities.
• Coordinate proposal efforts, capture activities, and the transition from BD to program execution.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, QA, Contracts, and Finance for successful delivery.
