Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a Deburring Lead for the 1st shift at our Fullerton, CA site. You will lead daily deburring operations, assuring aerospace quality, safety, and schedule adherence, while mentoring associates and driving 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires 3+ years in deburring or precision metal manufacturing, blueprints/GD&T reading, and strong tool/metering proficiency. On-site work with an emphasis on AS9100 standards and team leadership.

Qualifications

HS diploma or GED required.
3+ years of deburring, finishing, or precision metal manufacturing experience, preferably aerospace.
Ability to read blueprints and GD&T basics.
Strong proficiency with hand tools and measurement devices.
Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100 preferred).
Legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

Lead daily deburring operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
Perform advanced manual and mechanical deburring on complex aerospace fittings.
Serve as SME for deburring techniques, surface finish, edge break specs, and cosmetic acceptance.
Review orders and blueprints to ensure proper processing and sequencing.
Verify critical dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and gauges; provide daily coaching to deburring associates.
Train new hires and cross-train team members on equipment operation, safety, and best practices.
Enforce safety policies and PPE requirements; promote a clean, 5S work environment.
Coordinate with Maintenance for repairs and tooling needs; support continuous improvement initiatives.
