Job summary

Projects Incorporated is seeking a meticulous Deburr Technician to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This role removes burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections while preserving critical dimensions and tight tolerances on precision components.

You will perform deburring, blending, polishing, sanding, and finishing operations, reading engineering drawings and specifications, and ensuring conformance to AS9100 quality standards. Some overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience deburring, finishing, blending, or working with precision machined components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong understanding of deburring techniques, edge-breaking requirements, and surface finish standards.
  • Ability to work within close tolerances while preserving part integrity.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to identify defects such as nicks, scratches, gouges, tool marks, and chatter.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect components to identify burrs, sharp edges, flash, tool marks, and other surface imperfections.
  • Perform deburring, blending, polishing, sanding, grinding, filing, and finishing operations using hand tools, pneumatic tools, abrasive media, and specialized deburring equipment.
  • Remove imperfections while maintaining critical dimensions, tolerances, radii, contours, and surface finish requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and manufacturing routers.
  • Work within extremely close tolerances on complex aerospace and precision-machined components.
  • Inspect parts throughout the manufacturing process to ensure conformance to customer, engineering, and quality requirements.
  • Identify and report nonconforming conditions, damaged parts, tooling issues, or process discrepancies.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and 5S principles.
  • Follow all safety requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Comply with all applicable aerospace industry standards, customer requirements, and AS9100 quality system requirements.
  • Support Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention and housekeeping requirements.
