Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a Data Analyst to support the USAF Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB, CA. The role offers hybrid work with up to 40% travel to Edwards AFB, CA.

You will provide data-analysis and data-engineering support for flight-test campaigns, under guidance from senior staff, and contribute to the lab's data-driven test infrastructure buildout. Required skills include Python and SQL, data visualization, ETL, and experience with data-cleaning and reproducible

Qualifications

• Experience with statistical analysis and ML techniques on engineering data.
• Knowledge of flight-test practices or ability to learn quickly.
• Familiarity with VAULTIS and DME data products and MDTF activities.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience with data cleaning, ETL, and reproducible analysis (Jupyter).

Responsibilities

• Establish a data-driven test infrastructure and process aligned with MDTF and VAULTIS for integration into the DME.
• Support all flight-test activities, including modeling, simulation, data planning, and data acquisition.
• Analyze post-event data from OEM partners and translate outputs into analysis products.
• Apply data-analysis tools to quantify AI-agent performance in simulations and pre-flight environments.
• Disseminate flight-test results to leadership, sponsors, and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure task-related deliverables are consistent with project goals; collaborate with govt reps and subcontractors.
• Mentor colleagues and work independently with guidance only on complex cases.
