Job summary

Belcan expects a Controls Engineer to support test rigs and integration efforts for gas turbine controls, with hands-on configuration, debugging, and root-cause analysis.

The role requires a BS or MS in Electrical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience, plus test rig experience and willingness to travel up to 50%. Based at Purdue Technology Center Aerospace in West Lafayette, IN, with full benefits and a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is REQUIRED.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Previous test rig experience is a must, preferably building or modifying.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Aptitude for computers, software and scripting.
• Comfort around electrical test equipment (O-scope, generators, meters).
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl).
• Ability to learn new tools quickly and work in a hybrid environment.
• Willingness to travel locally up to 50%.
• Willingness to support multiple stakeholders and be a team contributor.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, configure, maintain, and operate test rigs for gas turbine system electronics and controls.
• Debug and perform root-cause analysis on test setups and unit under test (UUT).
• Review verification findings and recommend fixes for issues.
• Support design and integration of new engine component features across the lifecycle.
• Perform installation of components and assist verification and validation with stakeholders.
