Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Composites Technician at all levels for first shift in West Valley City, UT. The role involves hands-on fabrication of aerospace composite components using hand layup, filament winding, and prepreg materials, following precise work instructions and drawings.

You will prepare tooling, perform vacuum bagging and curing, and inspect parts to ensure quality. Candidates should have a HS diploma and experience with basic tools and reading blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to read diagrams and work instructions.
• Experience using basic hand and power tools and precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Builds advanced composite parts using hand layup and filament winding per instructions and specs.
• Prepares tooling and materials for layup, including pre-preg placement and vacuum bagging.
• Performs tooling fabrication, secondary bonding, and related manufacturing processes.
• Operates ply-cutting, hydraulic platen press, oven, autoclave, and curing equipment as applicable.
• Inspects parts for FOD and performs in-process inspections per quality requirements.
• Reads blueprints and drawings and uses precision measuring tools.
