Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Structures to develop and scale composite machining processes for CFRP aerospace parts. You will own machining programs, tool selection, and workholding for multi‑axis CNC and KUKA robotic cells, driving quality, cost, and schedule goals.

You will collaborate with design teams to improve manufacturability, while applying Mastercam and Robotmaster skills to optimize toolpaths, fixtures, and process control across full‑rate production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related field.
• Significant aerospace manufacturing experience with composite machining.
• Strong understanding of CFRP materials and tooling.
• Hands-on experience in CNC routing, trimming, drilling, milling, or similar.
• Experience interpreting drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and implement process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of machining processes for aerospace composite components.
• Develop and optimize CFRP machining strategies and tooling solutions.
• Create CNC programs and robot machining workflows using Mastercam and Robotmaster.
• Support KUKA robotic machining cells and fixture development.
• Collaborate with design to improve manufacturability and tolerance control.
• Establish process controls, documentation, and continuous improvement.
