Job summary

AAR Corp. is seeking an Engineer I to support aerospace component sustainment under the direction of a Senior Engineer. You will assist in inspections, data research, nonconformance investigations, and engineering submittals while maintaining accurate records.

The role collaborates with program, warehouse, depot, supplier, and U.S. Air Force personnel to resolve landing gear issues safely and promptly. The position emphasizes development of applied engineering judgment, compliance with ITAR, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, specifications, inspection results, and dimensional data; aircraft component experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; data visualization/reporting tools preferred.
• Ability to work in office and industrial warehouse/depot environments and travel as needed.
• ITAR compliance: U.S. Person required.
• Two years of experience in aircraft/aircraft-component engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation, coordination, and closure of engineering submittals and disposition records, including ETAR/202, 1694, and related technical documentation.
• Inspect landing gear components and serviceable returns at warehouse/depot locations against orders and drawings.
• Evaluate assets, document defects, and recommend repair, reuse, or condemnation.
• Coordinate with USAF engineers, depot personnel, warehouse teams, suppliers, and quality personnel for technical review.
• Maintain engineering logs, databases, and reporting datasets for traceability and decision-making.
