Barnes Group Inc. East Hartford site is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to perform precision milling tasks and setup on multi-axis CNC equipment. The role requires reading blueprints, verifying tolerances, and maintaining exacting standards for aerospace components.

The candidate should have strong mechanical skills, knowledge of FANUC controls, and the ability to work from established procedures with minimal supervision. This is an on-site role in East Hartford, CT.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in aerospace/high-precision manufacturing preferred.
• Three years of experience operating CNC multi-axis milling machines preferred.
• Surface grinding experience is required.
• Knowledge of FANUC or CNC controls is required.
• Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
• Exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate complex milling jobs with minimal supervision to meet specs.
• Make necessary modifications or adjustments as needed.
• Read and understand tolerances on blueprints and work instructions.
• Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges.
• Hold tight tolerances required for precision parts.
• Follow established practices and update procedures when required.
