Job summary

Barnes Group Inc. in East Granby, CT is seeking an experienced CNC machinist for aerospace components. You will set up and operate Devlieg milling machines, inspect parts, read blueprints, and work with engineering to optimize tool positions and process parameters.

The role requires 3+ years on aerospace machining, familiarity with Fanuc controls, GD&T, SPC, and a willingness to learn basic CNC programming. A high school diploma or equivalent is required and safety rules apply.

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years of experience setting up and operating CNC Devlieg Milling Machines.
• 3+ years of experience machining in an aerospace environment.
• Familiar with Fanuc controls and willingness to cross train on various operations/equipment.
• Strong mathematical skills and knowledge of GD&T.
• Familiar with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Willing to learn basic CNC Programming.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex set ups, edits and operate established and NPI jobs with minimal supervision ensuring parts conform to specifications and requirements. Make modifications or adjustments as necessary.
• Verify dimensions using standard measuring instruments, such as micrometers, depth gage, height gage, and vernier.
• Read and interpret blueprints and operations sheets.
• Work with engineering department regarding material conditions, best positioning of part, tool pressure, etc. as required.
• Detect faulty operations and materials and report these along with other problems to immediate supervisor.
