Job summary

Schafer Industries in Blacklick, OH is seeking a Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, producing tight-tolerance parts to customer specifications. You will join a team focused on safety, quality, and productivity on a 4x10 schedule with two shifts.

You will read blueprints, load parts, set tooling, monitor operations, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives while following ISO/AS9100 procedures. Training and advancement opportunities exist.

Qualifications

• Requires physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Demonstrates the verbal and written communication skills, in English, necessary to complete forms and take messages in a legible, accurate manner.
• Two-year certification from technical school.
• Minimum four years of experience in set-ups and running of production.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned machinery to fabricate parts to required specifications by reading work orders and specification sheets.
• Load and unload parts, ensure proper tooling, and manage fixtures and other work holding devices.
• Read blueprints and dimensions to determine tolerances and setup requirements.
• Maintain ISO/AS9100 procedures and Schafer quality certifications.
• Contribute to productivity improvements and process safety on the shop floor.
• Train new personnel and support other machine center cells as needed.
