Job summary

Astronics Luminescent Systems in East Aurora, NY is seeking Machine Operators to train and machine metallic and non‑metal components for aerospace applications. You will learn to program and operate CNC/milling equipment, inspect parts, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Great attention to detail, willingness to learn, follow instructions, and be part of a team.
• Use basic computer systems and software to track production, document work completed, and follow up on tasks as needed.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous manufacturing experience operating CNC machines, milling machines is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders to produce high‑precision parts.
• Tend machines that press, shape, or manufacture parts to ensure quality and precision.
• Cut materials with band saws or standing saws to specification.
• Position and align parts in jigs and fixtures and secure them for production.
• Program and control machinery using computer systems and prepare materials for production.
• Perform deburring, sanding, sandblasting, cleaning, and inserts installation with care.
• Follow work orders, interpret drawings, and inspect products for dimensional and surface quality.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and other gauges to measure products accurately.
• Conduct first and final piece inspections on automated CMMs and inspect during production.
